A Jackson man who is considered armed and dangerous is on the run.

Brandon Jernigan was in Yazoo City Police custody when he escaped from Kings Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City Wednesday night, according to Yazoo City Police Chief Eric Snow.

Jernigan, 26, of Jackson was arrested earlier Wednesday on drug charges and was reportedly being examined at Kings Daughters Hospital. Jernigan wasn't cuffed when he escaped.

He will be charged as a convicted felon with a weapon in addition to felony escape and drug charges, according to Yazoo City investigators. Jernigan is also wanted in Jackson for armed robbery charges.

Jernigan is a black male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weights about 170 pounds.
